Three people have been taken to hospital after a stabbing at an east London health centre.

Police were called to the St Stephen’s Health Centre close to Roman Road in Tower Hamlets, just after 11am on Wednesday.

They found three people with stab wounds.

The victims were taken to hospital and it was reported their injuries were not life-threatening.

One man was detained close to the centre and was also taken to hospital.

Video footage from near the scene showed a man in underwear being led to a police van.

Scotland Yard said the stabbing was not terror-related.

Tower Hamlets police tweeted: “We are in attendance and aware of an incident at St Stephens Health Centre. We are dealing with it and one male arrested.”

St Stephen’s Health Centre provides GP appointments as well as psychology and mother-and-baby services.

Cordons remained in place in the area while investigations continued.
