The Frenchman teased fans earlier today by scheduling a ‘big announcement’ on Instagram, however it turned out to be his own Emoji app
Manchester United fans were left underwhelmed as Paul Pogba’s ‘big announcement’ turned out to be the launch of a new Emoji app.
The French midfielder teased his Instagram followers earlier today by revealing there would be a mysterious announcement at some point on Sunday.
However, rather than a new contract or anything football related, Pogba took the opportunity to reveal his new ‘Pogmoji’ app.
The 25-year-old was criticised on Tuesday after asking his Instagram followers to caption a photo of him with a quizzical look on his face shortly after the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
And in a cheeky reference to the scandal, his post earlier today read: “Now caption this. Big announcement later today.”
The comment section was full of United fans speculating what would be revealed, with many suggesting he would be named Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s new captain.
Instead, the post read: “Merci all for trying to guess but today’s announcement is only about fun.
“I’m launching the Pogmoji App for you to customize your pictures and spice up your conversations.”
Pogba returned to form yesterday following a period in the wilderness under Mourinho.
The midfielder created two of his team’s goals in the 5-1 victory over Cardiff as Solskjaer made a dream start to life as caretaker manager.
