The club will go nine points clear at the top of the table if they beat Manchester City and Carra says professionalism will go out of the window if they go on and win it
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has vowed to celebrate wildly in the Sky Sports studios if the Reds are crowned Premier League champions this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will receive the biggest test yet to their title credentials when they travel to the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night.
Victory over the defending champions will extend Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table to nine points, taking them ten clear of third-placed City.
Carragher has told talkSPORT the title race will NOT be over if the Reds win at the Etihad, insisting there is still plenty of time for Pep Guardiola’s men to catch up.
However, if they do it, the Anfield hero and one-club-man says professionalism will go out of the window.
Klopp was charged for improper conduct and fined earlier this season when he ran onto the pitch to celebrate Liverpool’s late winner against Everton in the Merseyside derby.
And asked if he would keep his cool should his beloved club lift the title while he is working as a pundit, Carragher told the Sports Breakfast: “Oh, you can forget about professionalism if Liverpool win the league, there’s no doubt about that.
“If the moment came when Jordan Henderson, Jurgen Klopp, Virgil van Dijk or whoever it is lifts the trophy, you go back to being a supporter again.
“To be honest I think sometimes you shouldn’t hide that.”
